Description

Located below are a set of icons and logos that were prototyped for the MaterialX Learn educational site.

For each logo a corresponding 3d model is shown along with the corresponding MaterialX material.

Shown below are:

  1. Various icons used for navigation as well as to indicate asset types as part of the reference library. Icons were created using Adobe Illustrator and Figma. The 3D models were created using Blender and MaterialX libraries.

  2. Variations of MaterialX icons and logos, using different color palettes and font styles. The materials and geometry were generated using custom Python scripts using Blender and MaterialX libraries.

  3. The site logo's vector graphics and 3D model. The 3D logo was created from:

    • Scanned images for the patterns.
    • 2D vector graphics created in Illustrator and Figma.

The initial material was generated using Adobe Substance Sampler. The final material and glTF asset was created using custom Python scripts using MaterialX libraries. The PyPi package materialxgltf was used to convert the MaterialX material to glTF.
